On 14/3/2023, ZK Law Firm Partner, Mina Zoulovits, delivered an online seminar on “𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐞-𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬)”. The seminar focused on the latest changes brought to the Greek legal framework following the introduction of various European Directives and Regulations. ZK Associate, Zoe Syrmakezi, joined the floor to present the new rules on the liability of intermediaries introduced by the Digital Services Act.
The seminar aimed at familiarizing attendees with the most topical legislative changes in the 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬, the 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭/𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 and the 𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 and online intermediary service providers. We focused on consumer protection, following the adoption of the New Deal for Consumers Directives (2019/770/EU, 2019/771/EU, 2019/2161/EU) and also elaborated on the protection of recipients and business users, following the adoption of the Digital Services Act (DSA, Regulation 2022/2065/EU) and the Platform to Business Regulation (2019/1150/EU).
In the course of this 5-hour seminar, we covered the new legal framework on:
✔ the sale of goods, according to the Greek Civil Code, including the sale of goods with digital elements
✔ the sale of digital content and services, according to Law 4967/2022
✔ distant sales and consumer protection through e-shops and marketplaces, according to Laws 2251/1994 and 4933/2022
✔ liability of online intermediaries according to the DSA, including that of #online platforms and platforms for distant sales
✔ obligations of intermediary service providers towards business users, according to the P2B regulation
